By this we mean that it has 3 different PLC channels; each channel is connected to the same devices independently. Each PLC channel monitors information from the sensors from the attached devices.

By means of consensus voting we determine whether a problem has been detected from a connected device. Unlike other TMR systems which fail open, all three channels do not stop working. If one PLC Channel detects a fault which is not being detected by the other 2 PLC channels, the Triplex system will log the alarm, drive the PLC into line with the other two and continue to operate. Note, it can tolerate multiple single faults on each of the PLC channels so any potential faults such as; an input wiring break, processor fault, short circuit or loss of control system power etc. will not affect the system and continuous service to your organization will be maintained. Any faults that are detected will be displayed on a monitor on the front of the panel for your maintenance staff to view and resolve at a convenient time.
