Triplex Comprehensive Maintenance

A range of maintenance plans are available, to provide piece of mind that the control system will support your business into the future. We offer a comprehensive 5 year plan, a 3 year or an annual non-comprehensive package and various options in between.

There are several major advantages of installing a Triplex System for ongoing maintenance and future-proofing of the control system;

Maintenance can be carried out without interruption to your operation
The system is powered by 24v DC and so is safe to work on “live”
Triplex operates using consensus voting, one channel at a time can be turned off for maintenance while still supporting your critical supplies
The consensus system allows for additional new, or alterations to, existing Switchboards without the need to isolate the control system

The comprehensive 5 year plan covers everything from call outs, quarterly maintenance visits, annual 1 day refresher training, replacement parts, batteries and the HMI screens. Certain software upgrades to ensure you are operating on the latest version of Triplex are also included. Preferential day rates for extra work are an added benefit to the comprehensive plan. Out Of Hours working can be factored in as an option as the majority of clients insist that their critical systems are not worked on during the normal working day although the Triplex System can be worked on without adversely affecting the installation.

Call outs; We are available 24/7 to answer calls and support your business. We have a 12 hour response time as standard. Due to one of the unique selling points of Triplex, that there are no single points of failure so a fault will not stop the system from operating correctly, the majority of clients have found this to be adequate for their needs and helps keep costs to a minimum.

Quarterly Maintenance Visits; During these visits we carry out the following on all 3 PLC channels and the Monitor Channel.

Check Screens for display clarity
Check Alarm Lists
Check Event lists
Check for mismatches on the voting system
Initial Checks on any Alarms present
Check Battery condition
Check Battery charge rate
Check DC load current
Check stabilised voltage
Check voltages on shunt trips that are energised
Check continuity on shunt trips that are not energised
Check terminal tightness (annually)

Annual 1 day refresher training; As the system operates automatically many clients request a refresher training day to keep up to date with the control system installed on their site. A short test paper is included on completion of the training and a competency certificate is then issued to successful candidates.

Training for new personnel is a minimum of two days depending on the complexity of the installation and again the training ends with a test paper and competency certificate.

Parts: Fuses, phase failure relays, circuit breakers, battery chargers etc are covered for replacement

Batteries; One change of batteries is included in the 5 year plan. The manufacturers state that the batteries may last up to 7 years but due to the critical nature of the system we recommend a 5 year replacement.

HMI Screens; One replacement of each HMI screen is included as the expected lifespan of the screen is approximately 40,000hours

Software Upgrades; Any software upgrades will be included where the main control cannot be affected. As an example, in the last year two software upgrades were released on the Triplex System, a new event log and a new graphics package. Both of these would be available at no extra cost.

Out Of Normal Working Hours; Many clients will only carry out maintenance on critical system out of normal working hours and this can be included in the 5 year Comprehensive Plan.

Reduced Day Rates; Another benefit of selecting the Comprehensive 5 year plan is the preferential day rates included for site attendance. For example, if alterations to the electrical infrastructure or generator load tests are taking place requiring Triplex attendance, this will attract a reduced rate further saving costs.

The maintenance plans are flexible and can be tailored to your needs. We can offer annual, three or five year plans with various items included or omitted from the range listed above.
